How to wash
Washing your silk pillowcase regularly will keep it clean from perspiration, oil, dead skin, and bacteria and will help keep your skin clear and your pillowcase looking fresh. Follow the below instructions for best care -
- Machine wash once a week on a cold, delicate cycle, no warmer than 30degrees
- Minimize spin time if possible
- Use a mild detergent suitable for delicate fabrics and avoid any products that contain bleach.
- Avoid washing with items like zippers or bras that may snag the silk, or wash your silk items in a laundry bag for protection.
Can I put my silk in the dryer?
While it is recommended to air dry your silk if possible, avoiding direct sunlight, you can put your silk in the dryer to speed up drying time. Just make sure to follow the below instructions -
- Place your silk in the dryer and set to the lowest temperature
- Only leave your silk in the dryer for up to 20 minutes and then remove and let air dry until completely dried
- Make sure to avoid extreme temperatures
How to iron your silk
If you dry your silk pillowcases laying flat, they shouldn't wrinkle. If they are a little wrinkled, use the silk setting on your iron or the steam option to steam them out.
Removing stains from your silk
If you get a stain on your silk, treat it as soon as you can by soaking it in COLD water and dabbing at the stain with a milk detergent.
If you're a fake tanner, we recommend our black or navy pillowcases to conceal any tanning stains.
Looking after your silk
Keep away from pets or sharp objects which could snag or damage the silk. When travelling with your silk, make sure to pack it away from any zippers or bra clasps etc. that could catch on the silk in your bag.
