Tips and Tricks
- Do not apply in direct sunlight or in the UV/LED light from your lamp as this may cause the polish to begin to set prior to placing your hand in the lamp.
- It’s important that the polish does not touch the cuticle or your skin as this will create a ridge which can cause the polish to lift and peel off. Use the brush to create a straight line around the edge of the nail, this will also give you a professional looking finish.
- Make sure your hands are free from moisturiser and oils as the gel will adhere better to clean nails.
- Shake each bottle well before use.
- If a nail chips, you can simply peel off/remove and re-apply a single nail in just a few minutes!
- If you want to get an extra day or two out of your gels but they’re looking like they may be about to start lifting, apply another layer of Top Coat to seal in the edges and cure for 60 seconds.
- To remove a peel off gel manicure or pedicure simply pick at an edge and peel away. For easiest removal, soften gel by soaking nails in warm water, running under a warm tap, or in the bath or shower.
- How long your gel nails last will depend on how well the nails are prepared, the application of the polish, and how much wear and tear your nails are under as you go about your day. Note: results will vary from person to person.
- Avoid getting Gel Nail Polish on your skin - wipe off immediately before curing if you do.
- Polish will not dry until cured under the UV/LED light. If you're not happy with the application you can simply wipe off the layer and start again at any point before curing.
- Discontinue use if irritation or sensitivity occurs.
- Don’t be discouraged if they don’t come out perfect on your first try, it can take a few goes before you get the hang of it. We promise you’ll be pulling off professional quality nails in no time!
- PEEL OFF TIP: For a longer lasting peel off manicure, apply a small amount of Soak Off Base Coat to just the tip (the top edge) of the nail before applying the peel off base coat. This will stop lifting at the tip and keep your nails looking flawless for longer while still being gentle on your nails!
How to use
- Prepare nails by trimming and filing to desired shape and removing hanging cuticles. Rough edges or knicks in the nails can cause ridges which can result in peeling and lifting of the polish, so take the time to prepare them well.
- Apply a thin coat of Base Coat, leaving approx. 1mm between the polish and the cuticle/sides of the nail. Cure in your UV / LED lamp for 60 seconds.
- Apply an even, thin coat of your chosen colour, again making sure to avoid the cuticles, and cure for 60 seconds.
- Repeat step 3 until polish is at desired opacity. You should generally require 2 coats of colour, however 3 may be required depending on colour. Note: 3 thin coats is better than 2 thick coats.
- Apply a layer of top coat, making sure to seal in the edges by overshooting the colour coats slightly, but still making sure to leave a gap between the cuticles and edges. Also make sure to seal in the top edge by taking the polish over the tip of the nail - this will help to stop the polish from lifting. Cure for 60 seconds.
